STEVE’S MORNING WOOD
Preparing for LIPID PANEL TEST. NINE DAYS.
ALMOST RAW oats, dried fruit – cherry-berry blend, walnuts, flaxseed, cinnamon, cocoa, flaxseed, vegan yeast for B12.
MAKES 11-12 cups
5 CUPS KETTLE HEARTY OATS by QUAKER OATS
1 LB SHELLED WALNUTS (4-5 cups)
2 CUPS BERRY CHERRY BLEND dried fruit by TRAVERSE BAY FRUIT CO.
2 T GROUND FLAXSEED
2 T VEGAN YEAST
Combine all in large bowl. Pack in covered container. Keep at room temperature.
Or measure out into serving sizes in covered containers.
Place one cup almond milk by BLUE DIAMOND, unsweetened, original, vanilla in saucepan.
Stir in ONE CUP OAT MIX. Stir.
Place on #2 heat on burner. Cook till slight bubble.
Turn heat off.
Stir in a little salt, ONE TEASPOON VEGAN MARGARINE and eat it.
N.B.: Every morning for the next 9 days. EAT THIS.
The reason to keep heat on #2 is to marinate and soften the contents somewhat without boiling them.
It took 10 MINUTES TO BUBBLE.
This morning I made a double batch: 2 CUPS OAT MIX and TWO CUPS ALMOND MILK – some for SHARON to try.
It actually made 4 SERVINGS.
THE FIRST TWO in addition to the salt and margarine I added a drizzle of Grade A MAPLE SYRUP and a few twists of the pepper mill.
I left the rest on the stove to soften it up for SHARON, about 10 minutes longer still at #2. One serving for me and one for her (I already had 2 servings my way.
She makes her’s more fancy, so suggested extra virgin olive oil in place of the margarine plus fresh cut basil in addition to the salt, pepper and maple syrup. NICE TOUCH. She liked it too.
